APPsolute Best, LLC ("APPsolute Best™," "we," "us," or "our") operates APPsolute Play at appsoluteplay.com — including the games Level Up Trivia, Monster Wars, and Lamped, and the game sessions we host for groups (collectively, the "Services").

This policy covers the Services on appsoluteplay.com. Our company website and business services are covered by a separate policy at appsolutebest.com.

1. What We Don't Collect

Because this trips people up, it is worth stating plainly before anything else:

• You do not need an account to join a game session. No email, no password, no sign-up.
• We never ask for your real name. A nickname you pick is enough.
• We do not handle or store payment card details. Any purchases go through Apple or Google.
• We do not sell personal information to anyone.

2. Information We Collect

Joining a Game Session

When you join a session as a player, we temporarily process:

• The nickname you choose for that session
• The room code you entered
• Your answers, scores, and results while the session is running

This information exists only for the life of the game room. When the room closes, it is gone.

Booking a Hosted Session

If you ask us to host a session for your group, we collect what you send us — typically a name, an email address, the game you want, a rough headcount, and a preferred time. We use it to arrange and run your session and to follow up about it.

Monster Wars Accounts

Monster Wars is a persistent game and does require an account. For it we collect:

• Display name (a username you choose)
• Password, stored using industry-standard hashing
• Faction selection and gameplay preferences
• Bases, troops, resources, battle reports, and map territory
• Seasonal ladder progress and engagement activity
• Alliance membership and in-game chat messages

Optional Discord Linking

If you choose to link a Discord account, we receive your Discord user ID and username. We do not access your messages, your friends list, or which servers you belong to.

Device and Technical Information

• Device type and operating system
• Game or app version
• Crash reports and error logs

Feedback

When you send feedback through an in-game form, we collect the message and the category you picked. Personal information is not required to send it.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Run games and hosted sessions, and keep game state consistent
• Arrange, confirm, and follow up on sessions you book with us
• Authenticate Monster Wars accounts
• Moderate chat and nicknames, and enforce our community standards
• Diagnose crashes and improve stability
• Analyse gameplay patterns to balance game mechanics
• Respond to feedback and support requests
• Display advertising on our web pages

4. Advertising

Our web pages use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. More detail on how Google uses this data is in Google's Partner Sites Policy.

We do not pass your nickname, session data, or account information to advertisers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with:

• Infrastructure providers — hosting, content delivery, and the relay service that connects players to game rooms
• Advertising partners — Google AdSense, for ads on our web pages
• Payment processors — Apple and Google, for in-app purchases
• Issue tracking — feedback you submit is routed into our internal tracker so we can act on it
• Legal compliance — where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of players

6. Data Security

• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• Authentication uses signed tokens
• All data in transit is encrypted over HTTPS and secure WebSocket connections
• Access to production systems is limited to authorised personnel

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

Game sessions: nicknames, room codes, and in-session scores are deleted when the room closes. We do not build player profiles from session play.

Session bookings: we keep your booking correspondence for as long as we need it to run and support your session, and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Monster Wars accounts: retained while the account is active. On a deletion request, personal data is removed within 30 days, though anonymised statistics may be kept for game balancing.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.

We recognise that games attract younger players. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of anything inaccurate
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings
• Opt out of notifications through your device settings

To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. Note that if you have only ever joined sessions as a player, there is generally nothing retained to access or delete.

10. Cookies and Local Storage

Our web pages may use cookies and local storage for:

• Keeping you signed in where an account applies
• Caching game assets so they load faster
• Advertising, through Google AdSense

You can control cookies in your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the games work.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
